About the Dinokeng Game Reserve

After more than a decade of planning, the Dinokeng Game Reserve was opened in September 2011 by Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane. The 18 500ha reserve is located to the north of Pretoria and is a cooperative effort between the Gauteng government and the private sector.

The reserve partly made up of properties belonging to numerous tourism establishements, and is surrounded by a 3m-high four-strand electric fence. All participating landowners have agreed to drop their fences and sign a cooperative agreement with other landowners and the state, allowing the greater land area to form a viable habitat for large mammals to interact with minimal human intervention.

To visit to the Dinokeng Game Reserve you must have a booking with one of the tourism product offerings, which will host you for the duration of your stay. Your package may include accommodation, meals, game drives, walks or other activities, depending on the specific tourism offering.  Read More…
